Roanoke 9/11 Stair Climb Returns

The 2026 Roanoke 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb is scheduled for Saturday, September 26, from 9:00 AM to noon at the Wells Fargo Tower, 10 S. Jefferson Street. Participants honor an FDNY firefighter by climbing or walking the equivalent of the 110 stories of the World Trade Center. The city calendar says participants climb the tower five times to reach that total. Residents attending or participating should plan for activity around the downtown tower during the event.
