The permit assigns a two-hour arrival window at the Gateway, and visitors must also purchase admission unless another approved access option applies. Colorado Springs Utilities and Pikes Peak officials advise visitors to plan ahead because reservations may sell out. Annual passholders who reach the Gateway before 9 a.m. may qualify for the stated permit exception.
