New Bike Rules Take Effect

Berkley's new ordinance regulating bicycles, e-bikes, e-moto or high-powered moped devices, electric scooters, and electric skateboards takes effect Wednesday, September 16. The city says riding is prohibited for all listed devices on downtown sidewalks. E-bikes and e-moto devices are also prohibited on sidewalks throughout the city, while traditional bicycles and electric scooters or skateboards remain permitted on other city sidewalks under the posted rules.
