Twin Urns Ceremony Closes Project

Queens Botanical Garden will hold the closing ceremony for Chloe Seibert's Twin Urns public art project on Sunday, September 20, from 5 to 7 p.m. at 43-50 Main Street in Flushing. The six-month installation collected visitors' wishes, fears, dreams, and desires on paper made from garden waste. The closing ceremony will light the urns and burn the papers as part of a participatory ritual, with the ashes then incorporated into the Garden's composting program. Admission is $6 for nonmembers and free for members.
