Cape Fear Marathon Returns October 18

The third annual Cape Fear Marathon and Half Marathon is scheduled for Sunday, October 18, with a 10:00 a.m. start on Bald Head Island. The full and half marathon courses use the island's one-lane-wide roads and include a beach section around Cape Fear. The start line is at Old Baldy, and the finish line is at the marina end of the wooden bridge over the marsh creek. The Village lists the event period as 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Residents should account for runners using the course during the event.
