Start by deciding how much space and upkeep fit your plans. An asking price can help narrow your search, but it cannot tell you which home is the better choice.
In the latest market report, the typical asking price among Rotterdam homes listed for sale was $370,000 across single-family homes and condos, townhouses, and apartments. Among the recently listed properties, two condos each had an asking price of $370,000. Each of those condos had 1,463 square feet of living area. A recently listed single-family home had an asking price of $329,900 and 1,758 square feet of living area.
Those asking prices describe homes with different features, not a ranking of what you would enjoy owning. More interior space may appeal to you, while the day-to-day responsibilities of each property deserve their own review. The asking price also leaves open important questions about condition and the money you would need to pay.
Make a short list of must-have features before scheduling home visits, including the space you will actually use. Compare each home's condition, layout, and ongoing responsibilities rather than choosing by square footage alone. Then set the maximum price you are comfortable offering and review it alongside your financing plans before deciding whether to proceed.
