Set Your Fort Worth, TX Home's Asking Price in October 2026
By Garland Best
Fort Worth, TXYour starting price should reflect how your home compares with similar completed sales. Let's separate the useful price references so your decision rests on more than a broad estimate.
For Fort Worth single-family homes, condos, townhouses and apartments, the latest market report gives a typical sale price of $325,000. The typical asking price among homes listed for sale was $342,999. The estimated value of a typical home was $312,990, based on a valuation model rather than a formal appraisal. Asking prices and sale prices describe listed and sold groups, so their difference does not establish a negotiated discount.
I would use completed sales as a starting point, then examine how your home's size, condition and features compare. Listings offer context about other asking prices, but those prices are not evidence of what a purchaser will pay. Starting with an ambitious asking price is a choice to discuss carefully, rather than assuming an automated estimate validates it.
Prepare a list of improvements and known condition issues so we can make useful comparisons with similar homes. Review recent sales of similar homes with me, and examine listed properties separately before choosing your asking price. Decide what feedback would prompt another pricing discussion, rather than committing to a price without a review plan.
