Choosing Your Lowell, IN Home's Asking Price for October 2026
By Sue Puplava
Lowell, INSetting your asking price starts with recent sales of similar homes, not simply matching nearby listings. Your home's differences deserve attention, and I'll work through those comparisons with you.
For Lowell's single-family homes, condos, townhouses and apartments, the September 2026 median sold price was $335,006. The median list price for active listings at month-end was $389,995. The median estimated property value was $331,670. That estimated value comes from a valuation model and is not a formal appraisal.
Asking prices and completed sale prices describe listed versus sold homes, so their difference does not establish a negotiated discount. I would use model estimates as background while giving closer attention to sales with relevant similarities to your property. Starting with an ambitious asking price requires a clear rationale rather than an assumption that another listing establishes your home's value.
Gather your home's improvement details and known repair needs so we can review its condition alongside similar completed sales. Consider homes listed for sale separately, comparing their features and asking prices without assuming those prices will be achieved. Choose an asking price you can support and decide what feedback would prompt another review rather than an automatic reduction.
