Kingsbridge, NY: Local News, Events & Community Guide — October 2026
Updated: October 31, 2026
Kingsbridge, New York, is a northwest Bronx neighborhood near Marble Hill and Riverdale, organized around Broadway and West 231st Street, where a longstanding commercial district forms its center. Storefronts and daily services concentrate along Broadway, while lower-density residential streets extend off the corridor. This arrangement places housing within an urban street grid whose character shifts from active commercial blocks to quieter residential blocks.
The 231st Street station on the 1 line, nearby bus routes, and the Marble Hill Metro-North station provide connections toward Manhattan and the Hudson Valley. Van Cortlandt Park lies to the north, adding trails, athletic fields, and extensive natural areas, while the Kingsbridge Library is located on West 231st Street. Together, these transit, retail, library, and park anchors frame practical considerations around errands, recreation, and regional access.
